In the story Fahrenheit 451 in part one its titled "The Hearth and the Salamander". The author uses these title because in mythology salamanders represent fire which is capable of starting and putting fires. This can relate to Montag because since he is a firefighter he starts fired by burning books. That's what I think the author chose that title for part one.
" It was a pleasure to burn. It was a pleasure to see things eaten, to see things blackened and changed" in this quote the assumption that the reader could make is that the firemen don't like books. They burn books because they think that books are not useful.
The author chose to characterize a water hose with a great python because since the water hose shots to put down fires. The great python just shoots venom. They both relate because they both do something when they shoot. It is a negative thing that they are doing because they just start fires.
At first I was confused I did not know what F451 meant until Dr. Preston explained. Well what 451 means is that in that temperture the books or page burns.
Clarisse is such a happy person. What Montag strikes about Clarisse is that she is happy and he is a depressed man.
Clarisse and Guy are significant because they basically become friends and Clarisse helps Montage to think differently.
Clarisse asks Montag if he has a happy life or if he is happy. Since Montag lives in depression he laughs at Clarisse question.
Three add things that the characters live in is that Montag is older than Clarisse. Another thing is that Montag is depressed and he meet Clarisse which she is a happy person. Last is that Montag and the firefighters burn books.
A simile that Montag makes to Clarisse is" she had a very thin face like the dial of a small clock seen faintly in a dark room in a middle of a night when you waken to see the time".
Montag realizes about himself after Clarisse leaves him is that he is confused. He does not know how to feel. I hope you get this
😠🙂 》👧 》 😐 ( hint: the drawing was in the whiteboard).
Seashells? In the book it mentions how Milli uses seashells. Seashells are like ear plugs. She uses them to hear better.
Montag and Milli's marriage is something odd because they live together, but they dont talk to each other. They have a bad relationship with each other.
The machine that is used on Milli is to pump the blood to the heart so that she does not die.
"Nobody knows noone" is a quote that I think it means that none actually knows who you are because you are the only one who knows who you actually are.
In the story it explains how Clarisse lives and how Mintag lives at home. Clarisse does not use technology. She has a good relationship with her family. For Montage it explains that since he is depressed everything is dark in his house besides the big TV's in his house.
"I dont know anything anymore" is a statement that Montag used because he was confused. He does not know how to act anymore.
Mildred's mood is that she does not care. She os more into her walls which are the TV's. She does not want to talk to no one and does not care about anything.
Clarisse visits a psychiatrist because she likes to hike in the nature and does not like using technology. Now in the society they think it is something weird to do that because they are more focused in TV's.
"The Hound" in the story is a robot dog that has no owner. Montage is bothered by the hound because the dog switched mood or something happened that made the robot dog to attack him.
