Gypsy pgs. 1-25 (chapter 1)

I had to read chapter 1 since the begging to know what was going on. Now there was so many things going on. We got introduced to many people such as Nick, Tom, Daisy, Gypsy, Miss Baker, and the Bucker. In the story it sort of describes each character. Nick is a man that was serving in the war and was sent to New York to bo d with business. Then he meets new people. Tom is a man that us rich as well.as Daisy. They are both together. Tom is more of a racist person he usually sees people by the way they look especially the color. Daisy is the wife of Tom and she has no emotions. She is not responsible. She does not care about her baby she also wishes that her baby is a fool. Who in the world wishes that to your daughter? Why I know only her. Miss Baker she is a lady that is a friend of Daisy. She mostly helps Tom and Dasiy. Gypsy is a man that throws parties. He earns money by a criminal activity and he falls in love with daisy and he is described as dishonest. That's what I learned f...

Great Gatsby Notes 2

In the story today what called my attention is the family which I would call them crazy. In the story Daisy is a woman that is not responsible and she has no emotions. She has a baby and she does not even take care of her. Tom is a man that is selfish. Mrs. Baker is more of a liar. I would never imaged a family existed like that. Divan- couch.

Hopepunk

What is Hopepunk? So many people may be asking what is Hopepunk? Well today you will know what it means. Hopepunk is a storytelling template for resistance. This matters to authors because they have to have some type of template to tell the story to the audience. In every book or movies it tells a story so, to make the story understandable you have to tell what is going on.

MY SYMBOL

Down the Rabbit Hole

I chose this because I mean everyone has a friend that might not last or even for a reason you stop becoming friends. Now if you put art into it I wonder why its difficult? Is it because it hurts that you and your "friend" are not friends anymore or what makes it difficult? In this article I could relate. He was hurt because his "friend" was not helping him, but he was talking bad about him. My situation was sort of similar to that. It hurts when you call a friend a Friend when they are actually fake. It's so cool that he was able to write a book relating to his situation. Not that his problem is cool, but how he was able to express himself.

Notes from Todays Lecture

VOCABULARY ETHOS: characteristic spirit of a culture, era, or community as manifested in its beliefs and aspirations EX: An advertisement PATHOS: speakers emotion EX: MLK or even teacher teaching LOGOS: is a way of persuading an audience with reason, using facts and figures EX: Notes about the MLK video What I understood is that he was saying that America life had not brought good things to negros. He also said that black and white are equal. He was also saying that they will not be satisfied once they change the laws about African american people. The part when he said "I Have a Dream" he is basically wishing all the things that he said will happen. That's what I understood about his speech.

How to Get to Graceland

My experience is better when its shared. I probably read or did a math problem a different way. I like to learn from other ideas too. I sometimes learn better when others share their ideas. Many people learn by themselves, but I am a person that learns when people share ideas.

Strike

In LA right now teachers are in strike. Teachers don't want to teach because they don't get paid enough by the amount of kids that they are teaching. Teachers dont want to teach 500,000 students. In my opinion I think that's a lot. I think the teachers are doing good because I think it's unfair to teach that big amount of kids so that they wouldn't get paid enough.

Does Gaceland qualify as American Literature?

Literature is collect of writings of a group of people In my opinion I think Graceland does apply to American Literature because he was a singer that wrote the songs. Now writing songs could sort of be like poems. He was an American person that would write songs. American Literature consists of poetry and theater. Now writing his own songs has his own inspiration and expresses what he feels so, I could say that could be a poem.
